Festive Plenary Session 2015

On March 7, 2015 the European Academy of Sciences and Arts celebrated its 25th Festive Plenary Session in Salzburg. Besides many prominent public figures, the Austrian President of State Heinz Fischer, Protector of the Academy , the President of State from Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, Protector of the Academy as well , were also present. The Serbian President, Tomislav Nikolić, was inaugurated as Protector. Erich Hödl and Sigram Schindler were introduced as Honorary Senators, Mariae Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, Trude Kaindl-Hönig, Beata Baroth and Branko Stanovnik were inaugurated as Honorary Citizens of the Academy. Besides the academic hymn “Gaudeamus igitur” and the European anthem, Pianist Mr. Eung-Gu Kim performed two pieces by Pierre Boulez, a member of the Academy. In total 120 new members were introduced and the Academy welcomed about 520 guests. This was the largest Festive Plenary Session the Academy has ever had. The next Festive Plenary Session will be on March 5, 2016 in Salzburg.
